City Pool
The City Pool at Ina Crandall Childrens Park is a great place to cool off during the summer. The facility offers a variety of activities including learn to swim classes, water aerobics and family nights.
This year the pool was painted over by Brooklyn artist Hratch Arbach, he created an immersive “ocean wonderland” that is reminiscent of a tropical paradise and features a series of tree-trunk-like concentric circles with bubbles streaming out from the center.
Aside from the swimming area the park also has a spray park and an aquatic center with a large pool that is a great place for children to play. The spray park is open May 25-27 and June 1-2.
This year Mayor de Blasio made a change in his budget to reinstate 15 of the 53 outdoor public pools in the city. The following are now open: Mullaly Pool in the Bronx; Kosciuszko Pool and Sunset Pool in Brooklyn; Wagner Pool in Manhattan; Liberty Pool and Fisher Pool in Queens; and Lyons Pool and Tottenville Pool in Staten Island.
